Diogo Novo Carvalho

Diogo Novo Carvalho (1986) is a PhD student in Art Studies (University of Coimbra, 2019- ), collaborating researcher (CEIS20/University of Coimbra, 2019- ), Master in Music Composition and Theory (Escola Superior de Música e Artes do Espetáculo, Instituto Politécnico do Porto, 2013) and in Music Teaching (Escola das Artes, Universidade Católica Portuguesa, 2017). As a composer, he has carried out a diverse and profound work on the articulation of temporal models associated with the notion of silence, with works performed in festivals such as Festival Artes Vertentes, in Brazil (2021); Festival Música Viva, in Lisbon (2020); Aveiro_Síntese, in Aveiro (2018 and 2020); Festival 20.21, in Évora (2018); Dias da Música Eletroacústica, in Seia (2017), and commissioned by associations, performers and ensembles such as Francisco Béreny (guitar), Ricardo Pires (saxophone), Frederic Cardoso (clarinet), Duo Sofia Leandro and Bruno Santos (violin and percussion), Arte no Tempo and Movimento Patrimonial pela Música Portuguesa (MPMP).
